## Software

Robinhood Chain uses **Arbitrum Nitro**, maintained by **Offchain Labs** ([repository](https://github.com/OffchainLabs/nitro)). L2BEAT identifies it as an Arbitrum Orbit chain operated by Robinhood ([L2BEAT](https://l2beat.com/layer2s/projects/robinhood)). Robinhood's operator guide explicitly identifies Nitro and uses Offchain Labs' Docker image with Robinhood-specific chain configuration: the documented software is the upstream stack, rather than a separately distributed Robinhood fork ([operator guide](https://docs.robinhood.com/chain/run-a-full-node/)).

## Newest node release

- Repository: [OffchainLabs/nitro](https://github.com/OffchainLabs/nitro); checked both [Releases](https://github.com/OffchainLabs/nitro/releases) and [Tags](https://github.com/OffchainLabs/nitro/tags).
- Tag: **v3.12.2** ([release](https://github.com/OffchainLabs/nitro/releases/tag/v3.12.2)).
- Release title: **Arbitrum Nitro v3.12.2** ([release](https://github.com/OffchainLabs/nitro/releases/tag/v3.12.2)).
- Published: **27 Oct 13:27**, as displayed; the page's HTML timestamp is **2026-10-27T13:27:32Z** ([release page](https://github.com/OffchainLabs/nitro/releases/tag/v3.12.2)); independently confirmed by the release's `published_at` field ([GitHub API](https://api.github.com/repos/OffchainLabs/nitro/releases/tags/v3.12.2)).
- Release URL: [https://github.com/OffchainLabs/nitro/releases/tag/v3.12.2](https://github.com/OffchainLabs/nitro/releases/tag/v3.12.2).
- Changes: adds a transaction-feed client example; fixes head truncation, delayed-message sequencing panic recovery, and loss of recent blocks when switching back from the preceding release branch ([release notes](https://github.com/OffchainLabs/nitro/releases/tag/v3.12.2)).
- Status: top release, marked **Latest**, not pre-release; API reports `prerelease: false` and `draft: false` ([Releases](https://github.com/OffchainLabs/nitro/releases), [API](https://api.github.com/repos/OffchainLabs/nitro/releases/tags/v3.12.2)). The newest entry is not an RC.

The notes' heading carries **2026-10-14** ([release notes](https://github.com/OffchainLabs/nitro/releases/tag/v3.12.2)); that is distinct from the publication timestamp above. Tags were checked as corroboration, not used to substitute a commit/tag date for publication. Initially cached browser results omitted this release; fresh HTML and the API include it ([fresh Releases view](https://github.com/OffchainLabs/nitro/releases?fresh=20261027), [API](https://api.github.com/repos/OffchainLabs/nitro/releases?per_page=5)).

## Newest prover release

**Same repository as node.** Nitro includes the WASM interactive fraud-proof prover; its README describes native execution switching to WASM for fraud proofs ([Nitro README](https://github.com/OffchainLabs/nitro#readme)). The release tree contains [the prover](https://github.com/OffchainLabs/nitro/tree/v3.12.2/crates/prover) and [BoLD](https://github.com/OffchainLabs/nitro/tree/v3.12.2/bold). Thus the applicable public software release is **v3.12.2** ([release](https://github.com/OffchainLabs/nitro/releases/tag/v3.12.2)), with the title, publication date, changes and non-prerelease status recorded above; no separate prover release is identified by Robinhood's guide ([operator guide](https://docs.robinhood.com/chain/run-a-full-node/)).

This is an optimistic fraud-proof system: L2BEAT describes whitelisted challengers and an onchain WASM one-step prover ([L2BEAT state validation](https://l2beat.com/layer2s/projects/robinhood#state-validation)). Robinhood explicitly says its BoLD validators are permissioned ([operator guide](https://docs.robinhood.com/chain/run-a-full-node/)); upstream software availability does not establish permissionless proving on this chain.

## Operator docs version

The full-node guide's mainnet and testnet commands both specify **offchainlabs/nitro-node:v3.11.2-3599aca** ([operator guide](https://docs.robinhood.com/chain/run-a-full-node/)).

The current chain status notice recommends **v3.12.2**, image **offchainlabs/nitro-node:v3.12.2-5f02f3f** ([status notice](https://status.robinhoodchain.offchain.io/)). Its displayed posting date is **October 27, 2026 1:57 PM UTC** ([status page](https://status.robinhoodchain.offchain.io/)). It links the GitHub release and says the full source and standard images are available. Consequently, the guide's example image and the latest explicit operator recommendation differ; both are reported here.

## Not found

- **Robinhood-specific public node/prover fork or separate release: NOT FOUND.** Checked [Robinhood's GitHub organization](https://github.com/robinhood) and [its public repository list](https://github.com/orgs/robinhood/repositories), plus the [operator guide](https://docs.robinhood.com/chain/run-a-full-node/). The organization lists application/infrastructure repositories, with no chain node/prover repository identified. This is a finding about the pages checked, not proof that no private fork exists.
- Checked the older [OffchainLabs/bold repository](https://github.com/OffchainLabs/bold), [Releases](https://github.com/OffchainLabs/bold/releases) and [Tags](https://github.com/OffchainLabs/bold/tags). It is archived and has historical research/testnet releases; Robinhood's operator guide does not prescribe one of them. Current BoLD code is present in the Nitro release tree linked above, so those historical releases are not presented as Robinhood's current prover release.
- **Actual deployed sequencer/validator binary version: NOT FOUND** in the [operator guide](https://docs.robinhood.com/chain/run-a-full-node/) or [status notice](https://status.robinhoodchain.offchain.io/). A recommended or newest upstream release is not evidence of which binary Robinhood currently operates.
