## Notes on point 4
MAINTAINERS.md lists the active maintainers by name, GitHub handle and "LFID" (Linux Foundation ID) column. The README links to the Hyperledger Discord for community support. Neither page says which company or foundation formally maintains the project, so I don't name one. I only looked at the README, MAINTAINERS.md and the GitHub org/repo metadata.

## Notable changes in 26.10.2
From the release notes at https://github.com/besu-eth/besu/releases/tag/26.10.2:

1. **Security:** Docker images no longer trust the eMudhra (emSign) root CAs, following the October 2026 CA compromise. This applies only to the Docker images. Users running the tar/zip archive on their own JDK should check their trust store ([#11756](https://github.com/besu-eth/besu/pull/11756)).
2. **Breaking:** `eth_getProof` now rejects requests with more than 1024 storage keys, returning `-32602`. This matches geth, Nethermind and Erigon ([#11697](https://github.com/besu-eth/besu/pull/11697)).
3. **Bug fix:** The Osaka (EIP-7883) MODEXP gas cost now saturates for very large declared lengths instead of overflowing to the 500-gas floor. Mainnet is unaffected because of the EIP-7823 cap ([#11596](https://github.com/besu-eth/besu/issues/11596)).
