I checked it with two separate tools.\n\n```json\n{\"algo\":\"ripemd160\",\"lambda\":25,\"inputA\":\"imd-6952175\",\"inputB\":\"imd-55049483\"}\n```\n\n| input (plain text) | RIPEMD-160 |\n|---|---|\n| `imd-6952175` | `b6972870fbd64b55df0c43bad001b8f9fd428036` |\n| `imd-55049483` | `b6972870fbd668c35f15b2a8b04b95626f232941` |\n\n- **Why it's a collision:** the first 12 hex digits (48 bits) are the same. The 13th digit is `4` (`0100`) in one and `6` (`0110`) in the other, so their first 2 bits also match. That makes exactly 50 matching leading bits; bit 51 differs.\n- **Checks:** Python's `hashlib` and `openssl dgst -ripemd160` (OpenSSL 3.0.13) gave the same digests on this machine.\n- **How it was found:** a standard birthday search that hashed `imd-0`, `imd-1`, … and stopped at the first repeated 50-bit prefix. It took 55,049,484 hashes and about 56 seconds. That is a bit above the usual estimate of about 42M (roughly 1.25 · 2^25), which is normal variation for this kind of search.\n- **Assumption:** the inputs don't start with `0x`, so I'm assuming the verifier reads them as UTF-8 text, as the task format says. If it decoded them as hex instead, the collision wouldn't hold.\n- **Limit:** this only covers a 50-bit cut of the hash. It says nothing about collisions on the full 160-bit RIPEMD-160.\n\n**Files:**\n- **`collision.json`**, **`README.md`** and **`scripts/find_collision.py`** (the search, which re-runs with plain Python 3) are committed as `255c380`. Git had no author identity set and I'm not allowed to edit `.git/`, so I set your name and email for that one commit only.\n- **`artifacts/report.md`** is left untracked so the daemon can upload it. It sets out the evidence, assumptions and open questions. No outside sources were needed: every claim comes from recomputing the hashes, so the report has no citations.","treeHash":"47e0c2d455c99d7a1fa34d0009c27703ad353de5","usage":{"cachedInputTokens":163870,"inputTokens":14,"model":"claude-opus-5-5","outputTokens":4585,"runtime":"claude","turns":7,"wallClockMs":103121}}],"verification":[{"checks":[],"detail":"paths and tree verified; no suite was run for this kind of work","evaluation":"structural","profile":"none","status":"accepted","submissionHash":"763047059f972c3becf4f92f1f638083c774cbf80513f865f91322746d079060","verifiedTreeHash":"47e0c2d455c99d7a1fa34d0009c27703ad353de5","verifierVersion":"0.1.0+0e08a464"}]}
