PLEA is a sell-gated meme token on Uniswap v4 paired with IMD: anyone buys, selling needs a plea judged by a 30-seat IdentityMD oracle panel, approved pleas score season points for IMD and PLEA prizes, and every trade pays cashback in staked IMD through imd/acc's Stacker. Solidity 0.8.26, Foundry (cancun, via-IR), a Uniswap v4 hook, IdentityMD Intake v2 callbacks. This is the mainnet code, rehearsed first on Sepolia (launch.json on this commit has the Sepolia settings). Every trade pays 2.0% inside the swap: 0.5% cashback as staked IMD through imd/acc's Stacker (gas budget creditGas + a 1M reserve, plain IMD if the credit reverts), 0.75% to the owner, 0.25% to the season pot (pool liquidity once the Cabal is dead), 0.25% to pool liquidity, 0.25% of the PLEA leg burned. It keeps hourly price checkpoints for the gate (the price an hour's first trade found), each trader's cost basis and hold time, a 90-minute launch window (extra fee 70% to 0%, 5M PLEA per buy), the inventory cap ratchet (only down, at most (seeded - 900k) / 15 a day, never below the holdings or 900k) with trims, the wall placement guard (rises at most 400 ticks a day, drops at once), and the trader rule (hookData, else the router's msgSender(), else a plain-wallet sender; never a router, tx.origin, the Stacker, IMD, sIMD, the PoolManager or the hook).\nChanged since round 1: FINDINGS.md R1-A3-1..3 (hasBought, the exact-output fee, no wall at a drained tick; tests in test/AuditRound1.t.sol). The refund is paid as ERC-20 IMD only while the PoolManager's IMD balance covers it; otherwise it is minted to the trader as an ERC-6909 claim. The refund is 1.72% of (requested - filled), which is unbounded: a trader who sends a large exact-input buy with a sqrtPriceLimitX96 near spot (a partial fill through any plain v4 router) fills little and is refunded far more IMD than the PoolManager holds, so the refund lands as claims. THREAT-MODEL section 3 and the README document claims only for the payouts of a buy larger than about 66x the PoolManager's IMD and say 'only the first few sizeable buys after the open can hit it'; this path has no such bound and is reachable whenever (requested - filled) x 1.72% exceeds the PoolManager's IMD balance. For a plain wallet the refunded IMD is unusable until it writes a contract that unlocks, burns and takes (the same limitation the threat model notes for claims). No funds are lost and the trader chose the limit, so Low: an undocumented edge case. Fix: document the path next to the 66x residual (THREAT-MODEL section 3, README fee table) and have the site's router always swap with the MIN/MAX price limit so a fill is never partial, or reserve the specified-side fee against the pool's available IMD rather than the requested amount.","line":624,"path":"src/PleaHook.sol","reproduction":"Fixture (IMD is currency0, Cabal alive, past the launch window). 1) buy(carol, 10e18): the PoolManager holds about 9.8 IMD. 2) alice calls router.buyExactInLimit(1_000e18, abi.encode(alice), TickMath.getSqrtPriceAtTick(currentTick + 30)). I'm done with the review; here is the recap.\n\n**Outcome.** The findings file holds one Low. I found no Critical, High or Medium in PleaHook or IStacker, and every agreed number in the hook matches the threat model (2.0% split 50/75/25/25 plus 25 bps PLEA burn, 90-minute window 70% to 0%, 5M per buy, 5,700 IMD seed, 900k floor over 15 days, 400 ticks a day, 1M gas reserve).\n\n**The finding (Low).** A partially filled exact-input buy reserves its fee on the requested amount and refunds the unearned part in afterSwap. When that refund exceeds the IMD the PoolManager holds, it is minted to the trader as an ERC-6909 claim. The threat model documents claims only for buys larger than about 66 times the pool's IMD and says only the first few buys can hit it. The refund path has no such bound: a 1,000 IMD buy with a price limit 30 ticks from spot filled 6.85 IMD and left 17.08 IMD of claims in an EOA's hands. No funds are lost, and the trader chose the limit, so it is a documentation and router-guidance gap.\n\n**Invariants checked for this area.** 19 (fee on the fill, both specified sides, partial fills, claims paths, nothing stuck in the hook), 20 (hook-only liquidity and initialization, launch window), 21 (cap ratchet pace and floors, trims, wall placement below the guard, wall IMD stays in the pool, per-credit Stacker allowance), 22 (NotEnoughGas and the 63/64 rule, basis bookkeeping), and the checkpoint source behind invariant 3.\n\n**What I verified and why it holds.**\n- Exact-in and exact-out fee formulas are algebraically the same share of the fill, and the min with the reserved fee means the trader is never overcharged. Sum of floored shares never exceeds the IMD fee, so the pool share never underflows.\n- Hook deltas balance in every path (buy alive, buy dead, sell, exact-out), and an int128 truncation of a huge fee can only lead to a revert, never a credit.\n- The cap ratchet's remainder bookkeeping conserves the allowance exactly over long gaps. My probe's apparent overshoot was the 91 minutes banked since seed.\n- The guard rises at 400 ticks a day bounded by the lagging reference tick, drops at once only to lower traded prices, and ignores drained ticks. The wall is always placed below spot, guard and reference.\n- The cashback fallback pays plain IMD and leaves no allowance.\n\n**Round-1 fixes for this area** (hasBought dust guard, exact-output fee on the fill, no wall at a drained tick) are correct and their tests pass. But the exception exists to cover the payouts (cashback 0.5% + owner 0.75% + prize 0.25% of the basis), and those round to zero for larger buys than the fee does: the fee is basis*175/10000 (nonzero from 58 wei of basis) while the cashback needs 200 wei, the owner share 134 wei and the prize 400 wei. A first buy of 59..133 wei gross therefore has imdFee = 1 wei, out = 0, asClaims = false (any balance >= 0), sets hasBought = true and leaves the PoolManager holding about 100 wei of IMD. The next real buy (out = 1.5% of the fill > the PoolManager's balance, firstBuy false) takes the claims branch in _payFees: the trader's cashback is minted as an ERC-6909 IMD claim (no sIMD, no Stacker call), the launch owner's 0.75% and Seasons' 0.25% are minted as claims. CabalGate._factScoreAt (src/CabalGate.sol:263-268) reads basisOf(seller).avgBuyTime for the hold band (>=7d: 7, >=3d: 4, >=1d: 2). So a third party can, without the victim's consent, push a seller's buy-weighted age back under a band edge just before the victim submits (front-running submitSell, or pre-emptively, since basisOf is public). The PLEA needed is only held x margin/age: a holder 1 hour past 7 days loses the 3 hold points for a gift of about 0.6% of their position; the victim's need rises by up to 3 (invariant 3 says the fact score is computed from the trader's own record), so a plea scored at need is denied, losing the 0.5 IMD fee and starting the 4-hour cooldown (invariant 5). Once a buy brings spot back into the market band (liquidity != 0, drained false), rebalance() deploys the entire reserve as a wall whose near edge is alignUp(refTick + 1): in the reproduction 60,209 ticks below the market (a PLEA bid at about 0.25% of the market price) instead of against the band as the README (Wall placement guard) and the R1-A3-3 fix promise. The guard does not help: it only floors the placement on the high-price side, and a lower bid is always safe for it. The reserve never leaves the pool (no fund loss) but the buy wall, the only bid support after the death, is useless until refTick walks back (200 ticks per block with a swap, i.e. as many blocks as the attacker spent), and a corrective rebalance is refused (RebalanceNotNeeded) until a further 1 IMD of pool fees or fundWall accrues, since the deployment spent the reserve. The attacker can repeat the drag at any time for gas only. Invariant 21 checked: the wall is placed only below the guard price still holds literally, but the agreed behaviour that a drained, untraded tick never sets the wall's placement (README; FINDINGS R1-A3-3) is broken through refTick instead of spot. Fix: have _observeTick ignore ticks with no active liquidity, as _updateWallGuard does (only assign curBlockTick when poolManager.getLiquidity(poolId()) != 0), or clamp the edge in _rebalance to spot when refTick lies on the drained side of the market band. After a buy restored spot, rebalance deployed the entire 12.46 IMD reserve 60,209 ticks from the market.\n- **Trader-less partial fill (Medium).** After the death, the same partial fill cost 31.42 IMD without a resolvable trader versus 14.47 IMD with one. But the exception exists to cover the payouts (cashback + owner + prize = 1.5% of the basis), and those round to zero for far larger buys than the fee does: the fee is basis*175/10000 (nonzero from ~58 wei of basis), while cashback needs 200 wei, the owner share 134 wei and the prize 400 wei. Any first buy of 59..133 wei therefore has imdFee = 1 wei, out = 0, asClaims = false (balance >= 0), sets hasBought = true and leaves the PoolManager holding ~100 wei of IMD. The next real buy (out = 1.5% of the fill > PM balance, firstBuy false) takes the claims branch: the trader's cashback is minted as an ERC-6909 IMD claim (no sIMD, no Stacker call), the launch owner's 0.75% and Seasons' 0.25% are minted as claims. This is exactly the round-1 grief at a cost of ~100 wei + gas; the attacker only needs to land right after seed (seed is permissionless from START, so it can be back-run in the same block, ahead of the owner's 'closing' first buy that section 3 relies on). CabalGate._factScoreAt reads basisOf(seller).avgBuyTime for the hold band (>=7d: 7, >=3d: 4, >=1d: 2). So any third party can, with no permission from the victim, push a seller's buy-weighted age back under a band edge just before the victim submits (front-running submitSell, or pre-emptively, since basisOf is public). The PLEA needed is only held x margin/age: a holder 1 hour past 7 days loses the 3 hold points for a gift of ~0.6% of their position; 1 hour past 3 days loses 2 points for ~1.4%. No contract or config files were changed.\n\n**1. Medium — the round-1 fix R1-A3-1 is incomplete** (`src/PleaHook.sol:564`)\n- The fix only stops a buy whose total fee rounds to zero from using up the \"first buy\" exception.\n- The payouts that exception protects round to zero for larger buys. For a buy of 59–133 wei the fee is 1 wei, but the cashback, owner and prize shares are all 0.\n- Such a buy still marks the exception as used, so the next real buy is paid in ERC-6909 claims instead of staked IMD and plain IMD.\n- Checked: after a 100-wei first buy, a 100 IMD buy pays the buyer 0.4914 IMD in claims and 0 staked IMD, and pays the owner 0.7371 IMD in claims. The existing regression test only tries a 1-wei buy, so it misses this.\n- Suggested fix: count a buy as the first only when its payouts were actually paid out of the pool's IMD (`buy && out != 0 && !asClaims`).\n\n**2. Medium — anyone can shorten another holder's hold time** (`src/PleaHook.sol:538`)\n- The hook accepts any address in `hookData` as the trader and records that buy in that address's cost basis. That moves their average buy time toward now.\n- The gate scores hold time from that record, so a stranger can push a seller under the 7-day or 3-day mark just before they plead, for example by front-running `submitSell`. The seller's need goes up by 3 or 2, and a denied plea costs them the 0.5 IMD fee and starts the 4-hour cooldown.\n- Checked: a holder 174 h past their buys scores 40. A 6 IMD buy by someone else naming them drops their age to 164 h and their score to 37. A holder only one hour past 7 days would need a gift of about 0.6% of their position.\n- This isn't in THREAT-MODEL §3 or FINDINGS.md.\n- Suggested fix: give the hold points only when the PLEA already old enough covers the plea amount, so later buys can't age older PLEA down.\n\n**Invariants checked:** 19 (fee split and exact deltas, in both directions and both token orderings, plus partial fills and refunds), 20 (who may initialize or add liquidity, the launch window), 21 (cap ratchet, trims, wall and its guard, the Stacker approval per credit), 22 (gas check before the cashback credit, cost basis and hold time), and 3 as far as it reads the hook's price checkpoints and basis.\n\n**Fixes from round 1:**\n- R1-A3-2 (exact-output fee): correct.\n- R1-A3-3 (no wall at a drained tick): holds as written. Unlike _updateWallGuard (lines 1002-1005), it does not check that the pool has active liquidity at that tick. _rebalance then uses refTick as the wall's edge: `int24 edge = spot > refTick ? spot : refTick;` (line 853, PLEA token1) / `spot < refTick ? spot : refTick` (line 846), and the `drained` test (lines 829-831) only compares spot with refTick. After the Cabal's death a seller can drain the market band's IMD to a limit deep in the liquidity-free region (free trading, partial fills allowed), where every subsequent swap is a zero-fill: a 1-wei exact-input buy with sqrtPriceLimitX96 one unit toward the market moves the price inside the empty region, fills nothing, pays no fee (fee = 1*175/10175 = 0) and costs only gas, yet runs afterSwap and _observeTick. One such swap per block walks refTick 200 ticks per block to the drained tick (60,000 ticks in 300 blocks, about one hour on mainnet). Once a buy brings spot back into the market band (liquidity != 0, so `drained` is false), rebalance() deploys the entire reserve as a wall whose near edge is alignUp(refTick + 1): in the proof 60,210 ticks below the market (a PLEA bid at about 0.25% of the market price) instead of within a few hundred ticks of spot as the README (Wall placement guard) and the R1-A3-3 fix promise ('the wall is placed against the market once IMD is back, not parked at the extreme for years'). The reserve never leaves the pool (no fund loss) but the buy wall, the only bid support after the death, is useless until refTick walks back, which takes as many organic swaps in distinct blocks as the attacker spent (the restoring buy moves refTick only 200 per block), and a corrective rebalance is refused (RebalanceNotNeeded) until a further 1 IMD of pool fees or claims accrues, since the deployment spent the reserve. The attacker can repeat the drag at any time for gas only. THREAT-MODEL invariant 21 checked: the wall is 'placed only below the guard price' still holds literally, but the agreed behaviour that a drained, untraded tick never sets the wall's placement (README; FINDINGS R1-A3-3) is broken. Fix: make _observeTick ignore ticks with no active liquidity, as _updateWallGuard does (e.g. only assign curBlockTick when poolManager.getLiquidity(poolId()) != 0 and the tick is inside the usable range), or clamp the edge in _rebalance to spot when refTick lies on the drained side of the market band; keep the 200-tick step and the guard untouched.","line":965,"path":"src/PleaHook.sol","reproduction":"State: after the Cabal's death (no verdict for DEADMAN), PLEA token1 orientation (the default fixture; the proof handles both). 1) alice buys 100e18 IMD worth of PLEA, holds 50M PLEA, sells 50M PLEA through a plain router with sqrtPriceLimitX96 = TickMath.getSqrtPriceAtTick(market.tickUpper + 60000): the market band's IMD is drained, spot = that tick, getLiquidity() == 0, refTick stays near the market (about 60,000 ticks away). 2) In each of 310 consecutive blocks bob calls router.buyExactInLimit(1 wei IMD, abi.encode(bob), currentSqrtPriceX96 - 1): each swap fills 0, pays 0 fee, liquidity stays 0, spot stays within one tick of the limit, and hook.refTick() ends within 60 ticks of the drained tick. 3) Next block bob buys 50e18 IMD: spot returns into the market band (liquidity > 0). 4) alice calls fundWall(10e18); keeper calls rebalance(). Final report follows.\n\n## Scope\n\nFiles read in full: `src/PleaHook.sol` (1,071 lines), `src/interfaces/IStacker.sol`, plus the code the hook calls on every trade (`PLEA._update`, `CabalGate._sell` / `_swapFee` / `unlockCallback` / `_factScoreAt`, `Seasons.checkpoint`, `PleaLaunch`), v4's `Hooks.beforeSwap` / `afterSwap` delta plumbing and `PoolManager.swap`, and the hook test suites (`Hook`, `HookAdversarial`, `HookRevision`, `AuditRound1`, `TraderResolution`, the fixture and mocks). Build done with `forge build --skip test --skip script`; `test/AuditRound1.t.sol` run (10 passed).\n\n**Severity counts:** 0 Critical · 0 High · 1 Medium · 0 Low\n\n### [M-1] Zero-fill swaps drag `refTick` to a drained tick, so `rebalance` parks the whole wall reserve far below the market\n\n**Location:** `src/PleaHook.sol:965` (`_observeTick`), used at `src/PleaHook.sol:846-853` (`_rebalance`'s edge) and `829-831` (the `drained` test).\n**Root cause:** `_observeTick` records the post-swap tick unconditionally and walks `refTick` 200 ticks per block toward it. Unlike `_updateWallGuard`, it never checks that the pool has active liquidity there. `_rebalance` places the wall at `max(spot, refTick)`, and its drained check only compares spot with `refTick`.\n**Reproduction:** after the Cabal's death, a seller drains the market band to a limit 60,000 ticks into the liquidity-free region. An attacker then sends one 1-wei exact-input buy per block with a price limit one sqrt-price unit toward the market: each fills nothing, pays no fee, and moves `refTick` 200 ticks. After 310 blocks `refTick` sits at the drained tick. Any buy brings spot back into the band, then `fundWall(10e18)` and `rebalance()` deploy the whole reserve with its near edge 60,210 ticks below spot.\n**Expected vs actual:** the README and the R1-A3-3 fix say the wall is placed against the market once IMD is back, never parked at a drained tick. Actual gap is 60,210 ticks, and `pendingRebalance()` is then false, so nothing can move it until 1 IMD of fresh fees accrues and `refTick` has walked back through as many organic blocks as the attacker spent. No funds leave the pool, but the only post-death bid support is removed for gas cost only, repeatably.\n**Proof:** `test/scratch/RefTickDrag.t.sol` fails on this code with the message above; its source is embedded in `.imd-findings.json`.\n**Fix:** have `_observeTick` ignore ticks with no active liquidity, mirroring `_updateWallGuard`, or clamp the edge to spot when `refTick` lies on the drained side. The 200-tick step and the guard stay unchanged.\n\n## Round-1 fixes checked\n\nR1-A3-1 (`hasBought` only on a nonzero fee), R1-A3-2 (exact-output fee `amount × rate / (BPS − rate)`, verified to be the same share of the fill and never to underflow the split) and R1-A3-3 are correctly implemented and their tests pass. R1-A3-3 is complete for a single drain but bypassable by the refTick drag above.\n\n## Coverage, found correct\n\n- **v4 accounting:** all four cases (exact-in and exact-out, buy and sell, both orderings) return exact deltas; the specified-side fee is capped at the fill and refunded (ERC-20, or IMD claims when the PoolManager cannot pay); the hook's net delta is zero; a buyer never leaves with a positive PLEA delta while alive.\n- **Fee split:** floor shares never exceed the IMD fee, including at wei sizes and with the launch extra; the prize share joins the pool after the death; the burn is taken from the PLEA leg. A giant `amountSpecified` that truncates the `int128` fee delta always reverts in the refund's `toInt128`.\n- **Cashback and trader rule:** per-credit allowance only, the credit gets exactly `creditGas` under the 63/64 rule, the plain-IMD fallback and the `retainedImd` fallback are consistent, dirty hookData words fall through, excluded recipients hold, `RecipientRequired` while alive.\n- **Cap ratchet and trims:** the cap never rises, never falls below the holdings","treeHash":null,"usage":{"cachedInputTokens":2819365,"inputTokens":514,"model":"claude-fable-5-1","outputTokens":79983,"runtime":"claude","turns":34,"wallClockMs":1214377}},{"artifacts":[],"attempt":1,"bundleHash":null,"device":"52c98c0dc01791cd","findings":[{"citation":"resolved","description":"beforeSwap reserves the specified-side fee on the whole requested amount (amount * rate / (BPS + rate)) and afterSwap settles it against the realised fill. The cap therefore limits only the price impact of one swap, not how much one buyer can take early; the README and THREAT-MODEL invariant 20 say 'capped at 5M PLEA each', which matches the code, so this is a documentation/intent note rather than a defect unless the cap was meant to throttle a single buyer.","line":683,"path":"src/PleaHook.sol","reproduction":"Inside the launch window (block.timestamp < launchedAt + 90 minutes) a contract calls PoolManager.unlock and in its callback runs pm.swap(key, {zeroForOne: !pleaIsZero, amountSpecified: -X, limit}, abi.encode(buyer)) ten times with X sized so each swap yields just under 5,000,000e18 PLEA, then settles the IMD once.
